The energetic factor makes the macrobiotic approach to eating for health unique. The basis is Daoism (Taoism), the philosophy of recognizing polarity in the natural order. The tradition of the Far East focuses on the energies of Yin and Yang, cold and hot, winter and summer, night and day, woman and man. It is wise to take food that promotes harmony with this natural order.

This shows the way of self-healing. Supposed opposites are actually connected. The vagus nerve connects body and mind, and its balance supports health in both body and mind. Daily food has a powerful impact on physical health and the nervous system/mental wellbeing. 

Leaky gut is the major cause of illness in our time, and logically, food is the key to gut health, and even total health. The presentation will focus on the food that gives the optimal foundation for a healthy life and spiritual progress. Macrobiotic food comes closest to what the ancient spiritual masters ate.

Steven Acuff has been teaching the macrobiotic approach to health and healing for over 50 years. He studied with renowned macrobiotic pioneer Michio Kushi in Boston and has served as a nutrition consultant, author, international lecturer, and educator in food therapy and Oriental diagnosis. Steven has presented seminars in 27 countries, worked alongside leading health professionals, authored bestselling books on macrobiotics, and continues to teach practical approaches to healing through food, natural health, and traditional Oriental diagnosis.
